James and I purchased Pennine Way Preserves in April 2015 – a business which has since the 1970’s made Lemon Cheese, Fruit Conserves and Marmalades using traditional methods. We want to continue to grow and expand the business, ensuring that we maintain the heritage, integrity, quality and local provenance of the products we make, for example, the butter we use is made from Lancashire milk.
We relocated to Lancashire in 2015 moving away from family and friends as we are 100% committed to our new business venture – it has been a wonderful, exciting, exhausting few years since we moved here – we have made new friends, joined in with our local community and have got stuck into moving Pennine Way Preserves forward including applying for SALSA (Safe & Local Supplier Approval) accreditation which will help us attract new customers. We were successfully SALSA accredited in March 2017.
We have undertaken a rebranding exercise to update our labels to incorporate all the relevant nutritional information legally required and to refresh the image for a more modern look but still reflecting the original design.
I was a finalist in the Small Business of the Year category in 2017 by Enterprise Vision Awards.
We want to expand our customer base nationwide even worldwide! Watch this space!!!
