Nestled among the trees on the edge of the Forest of Bowland, an area of outstanding natural beauty, is one of Lancashire’s best-kept secrets – Pennine Way Preserves – an artisan preserve company based near Lancaster that makes Lemon Cheese (Curd), Flavoured Cheeses (Curds), Marmalades and Fruit Conserves. The Company is best known for its award winning “All Butter” Lemon Cheese (Curd) made with Lancashire butter and Sicilian lemons.
The business was started over 45 years ago and in 2015 Samantha and James Jennings took over the well-established company.
Since 2015 Pennine Way Preserves has won numerous awards for its preserves, undergone a label rebranding, been selected as a finalist in the small business category at the 2017 Eva Awards and in 2017 achieved SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Approval) accreditation.
With the help of a small dedicated team, the aim is to continue using traditional handmade methods and recipes to produce preserves without using any artificial preservatives, flavourings or colourings, for an increasingly discerning market.
Pennine Way Preserves never compromises on quality – always using the finest ingredients, bought locally where possible, cooking in small batches using traditional open pans to retain the home-made flavour and consistency.
Pennine Way Preserves has built up a reputation for providing excellent quality preserves and has an expanding customer base which includes Garden Centres, Markets, Deli’s, Gift Shops, Farm Shops, High Class Grocers and selected Supermarkets.
